Award-winning education websites from the IE Digital stable
At IE Digital we're chuffed to be awarded five silver W³ awards for our work, including awards for User Experience, Education website and School/University website.
Picked from over 5,000 award entries, we were delighted to scoop five W³ awards, including accolades for our work for clients Countryside Classroom and AFTP.
Given in recognition of creative excellence on the web, the W³ Awards are sanctioned and judged by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA). All entries are scored on a 100-point scale, so each category may have many winners, or none at all. The cream of the crop – less than 10% of entries – win Gold, while others judged "outstanding" receive Silver.
Education charity Countryside Classroom provides resources to enable teachers to incorporate food, farming and the natural environment into their teaching. The responsive website we designed for them provides a searchable database of farms, green spaces and other places to visit, which you can filter by age, theme and curriculum subject. The site responds beautifully on screens of all sizes, and as a result the site picked up two silver awards for outstanding User Experience and outstanding Education website.
Sticking with an agricultural theme, IE Digital's Drupal 7 website for the AgriFood Training Partnership (AFTP) similarly impressed the W³ judges, picking up silver in the Outstanding School/University Website category. The site acts as AFTP’s new 'shop window', providing easy ways to find information on the range of postgraduate-level courses on offer, and guiding participants towards the new digital course application form. Having designed the site, IE worked alongside the development team at the University of Nottingham to build it.
Last but not least, we also won silver for our own website (iedigital.co.uk) in the Self-Promotion category for both websites and mobile apps/sites. The site is notable for being the first site we'd built in Drupal 8. Since then there have been many more, so we hope it will be the first of many award-winning D8 sites from the IE stable.
Well done to all our brilliant digital consultants, UX designers and web developers for creating three beautiful websites worthy of a silver W³ award, and thank you to those clients who gave us the chance to create them!
The creativity and quality of this season’s entries raised the bar once again... our winners are a true testament to the power of Web creativity across the world. We applaud the talents and dedication our winners showcased and commend all of this year’s entrants for their commitment to furthering the quality of the content we view online.
