Companies need to develop apps to stay ahead
As more and more people use mobile devices to browse the internet and perform other functions, educational institutions and companies need to consider their education app design.
Due to the increase of app use, many companies and not-for-profit organisations are considering the integration of apps into their various marketing strategies. While websites optimised for mobile use are still popular amongst users, many companies have found that people would prefer to use apps to perform simple functions.
Whilst there are several resources for companies to create their own app, these are very basic and may not satisfy the needs and demands of their users.
Before launching into app creation, there are a few elements that need to be carefully considered - an app requires extra work on the part of the user than a mobile website does, as the user has to search for a company’s app in an app store, download it to their mobile device, and open it up whenever they want to make use of it. This begs the question – is a target market going to make that effort? Possibly not, so it is worth adding value to the app to make it more appealing.
Added value can mean providing easier ways of ordering or making an enquiry, or by making it truly useful to the user. An app that satisfies several needs of the user is more likely to be downloaded and used again and again.
