Fruit of the Vine for Education Sector Marketing
The video sharing social media app, Vine, may have only been in existence for a short while, but it has become a very popular social networking app amongst the younger audience. In 2013 the teenage usage of Vine grew by 639%, making it an exciting and rewarding education sector marketing channel for colleges and universities.
Vine is a video sharing social network, allowing users to record six-second looping video clips and share them along with a caption. Due to the young audience, Vine has become a key marketing tool for many organisations including the likes of: Samsung, Puma and VW. In some instances companies have sponsored top “Viners”, paying them to incorporate their brand into videos.
Vine has proved immensely popular amongst more creative types, becoming a favourite way for musicians, artists and photographers to reach a completely new audience by demonstrating their talent.
Video has become the medium of choice for many brands, as it demonstrates creativity and an opportunity to reach people who might not consider other media. This makes it an excellent tool for the education sector, especially universities, who are looking to increase their engagement with students.
