Responsive design has changed education marketing

With an increasing number of students and younger audiences viewing websites on mobile devices, it has become more important than ever for education marketing to embrace responsively designed websites.

It has been the custom for many years now to optimise a website for a desktop computer, but with mobile devices, especially mobile phones, playing an increasingly large part in a user’s experience, these types of sites can often be disappointing on smaller screens. A site optimised for a desktop can suffer from cropped images, navigation menus that wrap, text that has become illegible and rollovers that fail to roll when viewed on a mobile device. The opposite is also true: sites designed specifically for smaller screens lose their resolution when viewed on a desktop computer.

A responsive web design can adapt itself to the user’s screen size, whether mobile, tablet or desktop, by not making assumptions regarding the width of a browser window. Responsive web design means that navigation menus can be adjusted accordingly, images can be repositioned, and text realigned. The result of this is a better user experience and higher engagement with audiences.
