“We’re delighted with the design... Everything hangs together beautifully and the user interface is really intuitive.”

Before we landed

2gether (now Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust) had an existing app for people with low-level mental health issues. It used a simple emoji-based interface to allow users to self-monitor their moods and understand the factors affecting their mental health. 2gether’s ambition was to extend the app’s functionality and reach.

The challenge we were set

2gether asked IE Digital to make Moodometer accessible across multiple platforms and devices. As part of the NHS’ Improved Access to Psychological Treatment (IAPT) programme, they also needed a web-based admin interface to facilitate communication between patients and clinicians.

The difference we made

IE Digital analysed the existing app and mapped the desired patient pathways. We then designed, built, tested and delivered a fully responsive and accessible web application to accommodate all users – from smartphones to desktops.

The extended Moodometer app offers a confidential, highly personalised tool full of advice, tips, video resources and self-management tools. Crucially, the IAPT system allows clinicians to manage and advise patients remotely through the platform, reducing the need for costly clinic attendance.

Moodometer measurably improves access to psychological therapies, helping users by a combination of interactivity and expert guidance. This great value, web-based service can lead, where necessary, to tele-health and clinic-based service provision. Other NHS organisations also expressed interest in licensing the solution.
