Digital Clients

IE Digital works with charity, health and education clients up and down the UK, as well as internationally. Sometimes we work for large charities and universities that are household names, and sometimes we help small health and social care providers, colleges, or startups with big ambitions. If you’re a values-driven organisation looking for a charity website, a healthcare app, or a university website, then we’d love to add you to our list of clients!

    Open Doors Stuck! interactive app

Open Doors International serves persecuted Christians worldwide through bible delivery, bible training, practical support, advocacy and prayer.

IE developed the prototype for an interactive app to engage with current and potential Open Doors supporters, help them to identify with the real life decisions faced by persecuted Christians across the world. "Stuck" uses video content to describe the dilemma freezes at the decision point. The group is then challenged to discuss what they'd do in this scenario, before the rest of the video plays out.

IE also delivered digital consultancy around customer journeys through Open Doors' suite of international websites.

Most recently, our MD Ollie Leggett used Open Doors International as a case study for his Executive MBA final project, entitled "Assessing the value of the CBIRM (Corporate Brand Identity and Reputation Matrix) framework to an international charity seeking to re-articulate its corporate brand".

Central England Co-operative is one of the UK's largest independent co-operatives – a £1 billion business with over 400 trading outlets including food stores, funeral homes, travel agencies and more. As part of the wider co-operative movement, they work together to provide all sorts of benefits for their members and customers.

Central England Co-operative appointed IE as its digital partner, to provide outsourced development services to supplement the skills of the in-house team.

We kicked off our relationship by designing and developing a bespoke 'penalty shoot-out' online football game as part of a promotional tie-in for EURO 2016.

CW+ is a charity that invests in financially sustainable innovations, facilities and technologies, to improve clinical outcomes for patients at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and beyond. This includes several health apps per year.

CW+ commissioned IE to build an app to help patients recuperating from a hand trauma or surgery. The app allows clinicians to prescribe a bespoke programme of exercises for each patient – from a library of over 90 video demonstrations – to aid recovery from their specific hand injuries. Clinicians can bookmark relevant content using an intuitive favourites system, and schedule push notifications to help remind patients when it's time to repeat their exercises.

Although the project is primarily aimed at supporting staff and patients at Chelsea and Westminster, CW+ intends to keep it open to help other areas of the health service. It's also based on reusable components to provide a framework for building future apps more efficiently.

We are truly delighted with the app. As a clinician it has been brilliant to be able to use this in situ with patients as it's quick and easy to download and prescribe exercises. It making a real difference to the patient and therapist experience. Thanks for all your hard work and dedication to this project.

WDP website on a laptop screen

Established in 1990, as a charity providing drug and alcohol treatment and recovery services in London, the South East and the East of England, 'Westminster Drug Project' was going from strength to strength – improving the health, wellbeing and social integration of service users.

Despite this, the charity had a problem: they were no longer confined to Westminster, their service offering extended beyond drug abuse, and they were no longer a project. IE created a new brand positioning, messaging and visual identity to communicate the charity’s vision, and a responsive new WDP website, to give the organisation a new public ‘shop window’.

Our new website pulls all of the elements of our new look together. It showcases our work in a dynamic and modern way, allowing us to better disseminate much-needed information about available support.

Houses with solar panels to represent Ofgem energy regulators

Ofgem is the government regulator for gas and electricity markets in Great Britain. They run the government's Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (DRHI), which provides consumers with a seven-year subsidy towards renewable heating costs.

IE worked with Ofgem and their research company (RbD Research by Design) to evaluate and improve the existing online application process for the DRHI. The application form filters people and either accepts, rejects or refers their application to an agent for follow-up. By improving the process, Ofgem ultimately wanted to increase auto accreditation and reduce administrative costs.

IE and RbD went through a multi-phase project to research, design and test the improved application form. We concluded with a report, recommendations and a prototype with an improved user experience, both in terms of the form's wording, structure, technical execution, look and feel.

Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO) is the leading professional body for Dispensing Opticians, which campaigns to raise the profile of the profession and advance the scope of practice.

ABDO asked IE Digital to re-develop their public website. We streamlined their content, greatly improved the user journey, and made the site both AA accessible and fully responsive. For the ABDO team, we provided a well-structured, user friendly CMS on WordPress to aid content management. It was important to demonstrate the undeniable benefits of ABDO membership to drive retention and renewals.

In phase two, IE has further improved the member-only areas of the website, simplified and automated the application and renewal process, and created an online entry and results system for exams.

    Conference image

The Gambling Commission is an independent non-departmental public body (NDPB) sponsored by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS). It regulates commercial gambling in Great Britain, and is a member of the International Association of Gaming Regulators (IAGR).

The Gambling Commission appointed IE to carry out an initial discovery phase to explore the online presence of the IAGR. We interviewed and surveyed 30 members of the Board of Trustees from across member countries to understand their pain points with the website and aspirational goals for the future.  IE presented summary findings to a meeting of the international Board of Trustees along with recommendations for the next stage of the IAGR’s evolution online.

IE was then commissioned by the IAGR to design and build a new website, following an Agile approach and using rapid prototyping. The new site boasts a much improved Information Architecture and pulls in high quality content from other sites. Different access levels allow members and Trustees access to different content.

Agapé t-shirt in the new brand

For over 50 years, Agapé UK has been inspiring people to discover Jesus together, at home, at work, at university, and abroad. As the UK arm of an international Christian charity, active in over 190 countries, they're bringing people together and transforming lives.

IE originally worked with Agapé back in the 90s, when we were first founded. We're delighted to have rekindled that relationship to rebrand the charity and create a modern new website.

We knew that IE would bring expertise, insight, and creativity to our branding challenge. What we didn’t expect was how excellent the team would be at helping us to see where we could improve our practices across the whole of Agapé UK – they really listened well to us and our stakeholders, and were sensitive to our needs as an organisation.

Our new branding is excellent, and it has been a breath of fresh air for me personally and our staff as a whole. It’s such an encouragement to be able to describe what we do so clearly, and to know that our brand identity reflects who we are as an organisation: discovering Jesus together, at home, at work, at university, and abroad. I am so thankful to have worked with IE – they were the right people at the right time.

Founded by Archbishop John Whitgift over 400 years ago, The Whitgift Foundation is a charity that provides education to 3,000 young people and supports 34,000 carers across the London Borough of Croydon.

Whitgift's online communications were failing to convey the value of their work in the community. Many people had heard of the foundation but were confused about its role. The IE team were challenged to develop an engaging, user friendly website to seamlessly fuse Whitgift’s 400 year heritage with their transformative work in the community today.

IE designed and built a mobile-friendly website with a greatly improved user experience. It's simpler to navigate, integrated with social media, and the Drupal CMS made it easy to update and grow the site.
