Read Easy UK is a national charity that recruits, trains and supports volunteer reading coaches. These coaches give one-to-one tuition to adults who struggle with reading – a hidden problem affecting millions of people.

Read Easy was about to gain a significant PR boost, thanks to a charity appeal with Richard Madeley on BBC Radio 4. To capitalise on this, the charity needed a top-notch, accessible website to support its goals to increase donations and recruit volunteers.

With the launch date set and a massive uptick in web traffic expected in the short term, testing and resilience were crucial.

I am so proud of our new website, it looks absolutely fantastic! I’m overwhelmed by what everyone has achieved between them – both at IE Digital and the Read Easy team too. IE immediately understood our mission as a charity, and the significance of the Radio 4 appeal for us. They listened to what we needed and went above and beyond, taking every possible precaution to ensure a successful launch. Thank you so much to everyone involved. I couldn’t be more pleased!

    Young Enterprise logo - YE

Young Enterprise new wordpress website by IE Digital

Young Enterprise (YE) is the UK’s leading enterprise and financial education charity, reaching over 315,000 young people every year. They make the connection between school and the world of work by helping young people to build key skills. They merged with financial education charity pfeg (now Young Money) in 2014, continuing to operate two separate websites, before appointing IE Digital – a long-standing partner of both charities – to bring the two together.

IE Digital developed a single, intuitive new website that would be more efficient for staff to maintain through a single CMS. It needed to feature improved user journeys for their key audiences of teachers/careers advisors (primary and secondary schools, colleges, universities etc.) and investors (e.g. corporates, major donors, trusts and ambassadors). Additional users to consider ranged from YE alumni and volunteers, to the media and Government stakeholders.

Built in WordPress, the highly flexible site is based around a module-builder style functionality, to allow YE to create a wide variety of pages, while keeping everything consistently on brand. We followed a highly collaborative design process to take into account the specific needs of the client. The site integrates with ProgressCRM to facilitate subscriber-only access to lesson plans and CPD training materials for educators. Meanwhile, we introduced clearer calls to action and an intuitive donation path for investors, to improve conversion rates.

The result is a modern, vibrant site to communicate the charity’s mission, work, overall impact, and individual success stories.

The Inns of Court College of Advocacy website by IE Digital

The Inns of Court College of Advocacy (ICCA) is the educational arm of the Council of the Inns of Court. They design and deliver a number of bespoke legal advocacy training and CPD courses, including a new two-part Bar Course.

As ICCA gradually moves towards delivering more of its learning content online, they realised their existing website wasn't up to the task. IE Digital designed and built a new WordPress website, creating a platform to host ICCA's legacy content and support the search and retrieval of new digital learning materials. It's also future-proofed for any integration with e-learning platforms in the future.

IE's designers created a modern new visual identity with a premium feel, including a set of ‘digital brand’ guidelines. We updated the logo to reproduce better online, and added a prestige colour palette, a bespoke icon set and pattern, and beautiful photography taken on location at the College with real students and practitioners. We also created various pieces of core collateral and templates to support ICCA's marketing team.

Working with IE Digital has been a very positive experience. They quickly understood what we wanted to achieve and the development process went extremely smoothly. The result is a website which not only looks great, but is thoughtfully designed and easy to administer. We are looking forward to a long and productive partnership!

  • ChatHealth app logo (grey)
    ChatHealth app logo

    Image representing ChatHealth app

Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust created ChatHealth – an SMS text messaging helpline that gives 11-19 year olds remote access to a school nurse.

With school nurses spread thin – only 1,200 school nurses for 200,000 schools – help can be hard to access. ChatHealth allows nurses to access messages from pupils via a secure digital system. They can respond to questions on a variety of health issues – from mental health and relationships to drugs and alcohol – with professional advice, while the system offers a range of risk management features.

IE was commissioned to design the look and feel of a mobile optimised, instant messaging app. This introduced improved security for users, allowing them to remain anonymous and conceal messages from prying eyes. The app also allows users to search for services based on location, so they can more easily access to specialist, relevant advice.

The service has been rolled out across many regions of the UK, supporting young people from as far afield as Suffolk, Sussex and the Pennines.

  • Morley Radio logo - grey version

Morley Radio website shown on mobile phone screens – strong colours on black

Morley Radio is the community radio station for Morley College London. It is central to the College’s vision of inspiring ambitions and creating outstanding learning opportunities.

Following a 'light touch' UX exercise to understand who the site's users would be, IE Digital created a visual design theme for the new website, inspired by the College's parent brand and current design trends, including a new logo for Morley Radio.

We then built a rich, modern and highly polished WordPress template and incorporated programme listings, podcasts and the all-important audio player – to allow users to live stream an eclectic selection of music, talk and drama, all created by students, staff and visitors in the College's state-of-the-art radio studios.
